Situation: - switched to "Favorites" view - created a folder somewhere in one of my favorites (by using right-click -> "New" -> "folder") - chose "File" -> "New File...", intending to create an empty HTML file right in that folder. Outcome: The "New File" wizard appears, but showing me that the new file, no matter which kind, be created in the project I used to work in before switching to "Favorites" rather than in the folder selected in "Favorites". Expected behaviour: - Choosing "File" -> "New File" while in "Favorites" view should create the chosen file in the folder currently selected in "Favorites" rather than in some project. - "New File" wizard, in that case, should be limited to showing files that could be created outside of a project in a meaningful way (XSD and most of the XML stuff, HTML, CSS, scripts, ...).
Almost certainly a duplicate of an old issue but I cannot find it right now. In a nutshell: the current APIs permit templates to be registered, with optional custom wizards, but provide no way for the template to indicate whether or not it requires a project. Since some templates do in fact require a project, the New File wizard currently only permits creation of files with an associated project.
