Description baffyofdaffy 2008-08-06 13:47:38 UTC
NetBeans has an excellent HTML editor for example. The drawback is that there has to be a project for you to create a
new file. There should be a way to create a new file and place it wherever you want rather than having to create a
project. Some of my co-workers are also finding it awkward to use the new file wizard when they would rather just create
a new file and not have to choose the correct option in file new.

An alternative would be to use the windows file associations so that when you double click an HTML file (or XML or JS
etc...) it opens in NetBeans. Then you could create the new file with the right click option. Rename it with the right
extension and double click it.

I know that NetBeans is an IDE but it has a great editor and would be nice if people could use like an editor the way
they are used to.

Reassigned to "projects".
