NetBeans 5.5, Win XP 1. Switch screen to resolution 1024x768. Note that this resolution is still very common, and most of today's notebooks have this resolution. This is also the minimum resolution required by NB 5.5 release notes: http://www.netbeans.org/community/releases/55/relnotes.html#system_requirements 2. Create a web project 3. Open web.xml 4. Switch to XML view => Part of the editor toolbar is hidden, see the attached screenshot
Created attachment 34162 [details] Screenshot of web.xml source editor in 1024x768
Forgot to say that the screenshot is of course taken with the IDE maximized across the whole screen.
This can be fixed either in core/multiview or by getting rid of some of the tabs in the web.xml editor. See also related issue 78743.
*** Issue 108985 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. ***
the same problem with sun-web.xml Assumption is that user does not need to manually resize most windows or dialogs to see all of the ui objects and information in them. I'am running in pseudo localized locale in which each message/label is a bit longer than english to account for that in some locales, translations result in longer strings than in english. Also am running at fontsize 16, which is viewed as a valid font size that might be used. Resizing issues are not just related to i18n; they might show to user in english locale if they run at larger fontsize.
We are probably not going to remove any tabs from the web.xml editor for 6.0 and the other way to fix this depends onissue 78743, which has its TM set to future => setting the TM to future for this one as well.
