This Bugzilla instance is a read-only archive of historic NetBeans bug reports. To report a bug in NetBeans please follow the project's instructions for reporting issues.
Steps to reproduce: 1. Launch NetBeans 2. Show "projects" view (if you have no project, create one) 4. on Windows desktop, create a random "foo.java" file 4. try to drag this file into the projects view the expected behavior is that I can copy (or move) this file into the selected package, but the icon remains as the "forbidden" icon and I cannot drag&drop. The same problem applies to the files view. This is such a fumdanetal feature, for example when you get some code fragment from your colleague via e-mail, or when you are copying files.
Passing to projects, please reassign further if needed.
