Recently I've been using NB to edit HTML files. It's easier for me to do main work in external editor (like dreamweaver) and do some minor modifications in NB. When I save html file in UTF-8 in dreamweaver and open it in NB i see strange characters. I miss the feature to change encoding of html files in nb (it's allways west european iso). I think it would be easier if there would be some kind of selection in which encoding I want to work in (UTF-8 would be best for starter).
The file encoding is detected from the contentType attribute AFAIK. But recently I saw some bug reports related to this so it may be broken somehow. Anyway I also think that there should be the "encoding" property allowing to even override the recognized encoding value.
Marek, can you see if the detection from contentType is broken - if so, this seems like an issue vs enhancement. ken.frank@sun.com
