Before installing NetBeans 5.0 RC1 i had installed NetBeans 5.0 Beta. But i 
wasnt able to uninstall it completely so i deleted the files manually. Now 
when i am trying to install NetBeans 5.0 RC1 i get a message on the first 
Screen saying "Welcome to the Install Wizard for ERROR: null", "The Install 
Wizard will install ERROR: null on your computer. To continue, choose Next."

Although i installed the same file on other computers also. That means my 
installer is not corrupt. 

Do i need to start any new service in my OS(Windows xp SP2). I am using JDK 
1.5.4. Please help me

Please try to extract setup.jar using -is:extract command line option and then
run "java -Dis.debug=1 -jar setup.jar" from console. Attach here resulting log.

Without further info I cannot say what is wrong. The most probably it is
duplicate of issue #67530. In such case workaround is to delete content of
"C:\Program
Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Universal\common"
