If I try to edit build.xml or build-impl.xml, NetBeans locks up and has to be
restarted.  I could edit build.xml in 3.6.  Editing build.xml is necessary to
create standalone jar files or do other customization on the final build
result.

Do not edit Ant scripts in beta 2. Use beta 1 or RC1.
