[ JDK VERSION : 1.6 ]

From a new NB Install (user dir), try to create a new project and after this, use Create New File (window), both wizards shows a small window, where the description field is not displayed or is too small, I cannot read them, and project names or file types is too small (horizontally), the option is not fully displayed, see attached screenshot
