Thanks for resolving this very fast. Can I download this change via Update Center?

Even if I could, there will remain a serious problem:
If I install QBuild 200506211800 newly, and then start it, I am asked to import
4.0 settings. Refusing this, I will have to copy the 4.1 settings by hand, and
then I have the wrong Update Centers (see Issue 61012).
Comment 4 ulfzibis 2005-07-22 17:26:48 UTC
reopened, because of additional questions.

Fixing has no effect with version 200507260946. See attachment !
Comment 8 Jiri Rechtacek 2005-08-01 17:59:17 UTC
It works for me. Please, check if a directory .netbeans\4.1 exists in your
C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\ich. I assume that this folder doesn't exist and
the imported cannot use it.
Comment 9 ulfzibis 2005-08-01 18:46:42 UTC
directory .netbeans\4.1 exists !

also
directory .netbeans\4.0 and
directory .netbeans\dev
exist !
Comment 10 Jaromir Uhrik 2005-08-08 08:21:41 UTC
I have no problem with import of setting from 4.1 to daily build #200508071800
(Win XP; jdk1.5.0_05).
Comment 11 ulfzibis 2005-08-08 15:01:20 UTC
I don't think, that it is important, but I use jdk1.5.0_04.

In my Opinion, the best solution would be, that there should be a choice between
4.0, 4.1, 4.1 dev and all other installed versions.

Comment 12 ulfzibis 2005-08-08 15:04:21 UTC
@ juhrik : Where you got version _05 ? On
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp I only find _04.
Comment 13 Michel Graciano 2005-09-07 21:11:29 UTC
There is a way to define when the IDE will search for previous IDE user dir?
It is because some users don´t use the default user dir, me too, and the IDE
don´t found my previous configurations.

Comment 14 Jiri Rechtacek 2005-09-08 08:32:58 UTC
hmichel: Sorry, it not supported to define a search path for Import. The import
is as simple as possible. See on the import functional "spec" the issue 38552.

In general: The import uses the static path starts 4.1, 4.0 to 3.6. No other
version on any other places. If do you like it, fire a enhancement or open this
problem on nbui mailing list.
Comment 15 ulfzibis 2005-09-08 21:35:14 UTC
As you see above, I used the default user dir, but the development IDE
didn´t find my previous configuration of 4.1.

Please also read my arguments at Issue 38552.
Comment 16 Jiri Rechtacek 2005-09-09 09:27:12 UTC
Do you use NB4.1 on a default place (not --userdir <myplace>)? Do you use the
recent dev builds NB5.0? No other report a problem like this. The defect is
valid if and only if doesn't work by functional spec (issue 38552). No change of
functionality allows in NB5.0. It's late after the NB5.0 Feature Freeze.
Comment 17 ulfzibis 2005-09-11 21:08:25 UTC
As reported above, this issue was fixed on Jul 20 10:37:13.

On Aug 1 14:44:59 I tried out daily build #200507260946, and rekognized that
there was no change in the behavior, so I posted attachment (id=23398).
Later I tested daily build #200508071800. Now settings of 4.1 have been imported
correctly. Because I had no explanation, why daily build #200507260946 didn't
work correctly also, and I vote for a FileChooser filled with an appropriate
preselection to have a choice between different versions to import from, I
reopended the issue to enforce a closer look.
Comment 18 Jiri Rechtacek 2005-09-12 10:52:23 UTC
Closed as FIXED it works by the spec. Build #200507260946 didn't import due to
nb4.1 wasn't declared in list dirs for import.
Read my comment in issue 38552.
Comment 19 Tomas Danek 2005-12-12 12:36:26 UTC
->so can be closed
Comment 20 ulfzibis 2006-01-30 23:25:44 UTC
Now NB Beta 2 imports settings from 4.1 instead from 5.0dev. It's allmost
annoying, that there is no file chooser.

Please think about this one time more.
Comment 21 Jiri Rechtacek 2006-01-31 09:02:13 UTC
Importing from Dev releases not supported. I can import only from an FCS
releases. Closed as WORKSFORME. If do you not conform with current state file
new enhancement. Thanks
