Description Ben Hutchison 2004-04-21 07:55:57 UTC
Is there a good reason for Find in files to be
modal?

When the user selects Find, the dialog can pop-up
with its title equal to the root path of the tree
they it searches, ie immutable, and then the
dialog need not be modal.

The advantage of this is that the user can browse
files & cut/copy the text that they want to
search for.

I know its a small matter, but modal dialogs are
a very coarse grained synchronization lock on the
IDE UI, and IMHO should be avoided when not
strictly required.

A request to make the dialog non-modal is already tracked as issue
#23109 - "Make Search Filesystems dialog non-modal".
