Product Version = NetBeans IDE 8.2
Operating System = OSX version 10.12.6
Java jdk 9 

Issue: 
Open Netbeans to create new project, but nothing happens. No dialog box to select type of new project, no exception pop up. If I click on open project, the dialog box pops up however it does not open any projects that I select. 

Have tried to uninstall and reinstall - no improvement
Have tried to downgrade versions - Any version below 8.2 does not even want to open, I click on the application, the loading screen pops up and disappears promptly.

NetBeans 8.2 does not work with JDK 9. For more information see: https://jaxenter.com/netbeans/using-apache-netbeans-incubating-jdk-9
