This is not new on NB 8.2 (I noticed this since 8.0 as far as I remember), when these starts to update and unpack Maven's repositories the pc get frozen, I have to leave these processes to finish (20-30' at least) because the IDE becomes completely useless, no CTRL SPACE, no JavaDoc pop up.
I am sure that I have a "decent hardware": i7 4th, 8Gb RAM, SSD hard drive (more than 50% free space)

Product Version = NetBeans IDE 8.2 (Build 201609300101)
Operating System = Windows 10 version 10.0 running on amd64
Java; VM; Vendor = 1.8.0_102
Runtime = Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 25.102-b14

Reproducibility: Happens every time

Please capture and attach a .npss snapshot when NetBeans is using 100% CPU. The
steps how to obtain .npss snapshot are outlined here: 
http://wiki.netbeans.org/FitnessViaPartnership
Attach also IDE log file (messages.log), which corresponds to .npss snapshot.
