The message "Cannot execute /usr/bin/firefox" appears when I attempt to run a project. This just suddenly started to happen after firefox was upgraded to 39.0. Firefox works fine in all other respects.
> The message "Cannot execute /usr/bin/firefox" appears when I attempt to run a project. Is there any related exception printed into the console/IDE log? (use View > IDE Log from main menu to see the IDE log if you start NetBeans without console). > Firefox works fine in all other respects. What do you mean by that exactly? Does it work fine when used outside NetBeans or it works fine even when used within NetBeans except when running a project. Specifically, when you set Firefox as the default browser for NetBeans (in Tools > Options > General > Web Browser) and then open 'Help > Online Docs and Support'. Does it open Firefox correctly or it fails as well?
I do not see any related exception printed into the console/IDE log. Help, Online Docs and Support gives the same error message. Firefox will run the local website if the URL is entered manually.
