Product Version = NetBeans IDE Dev (Build 201307150106)
Operating System = Linux version 3.8.0-27-generic running on amd64
Java; VM; Vendor = 1.7.0_25
Runtime = Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 23.25-b01

Not a big deal, but still looks out of place and should be made transparent or use same gradient as a panel.

That's correct and expected look. The same as in all other look and feel implementations.
