Description ecerichter 2013-02-16 03:38:04 UTC
Product Version = NetBeans IDE 7.3 RC2 (Build 201302050851)
Operating System = Windows 7 version 6.1 running on amd64
Java; VM; Vendor = 1.7.0_13
Runtime = Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 23.7-b01

According page http://netbeans.org/kb/docs/ide/javascript-editor.html, at Tools -> Options -> Miscellaneous is expected to have a tab for Java Script options.
This is not available in 7.3 RC2, or is just my install that doesn't have it?

See attached screenshot for reference.

The document is obsolete. The functionality that user could set up in Tools
-> Options -> Miscellaneous was browser selection that are supported in the editor. This functionality was removed at all. The documentation will be updated soon.

So then, how can you configure Netbeans to work with higher versions of Javascript now? I've been trying to open some JS 1.8.5 files, but all the newer language elements are marked as syntax errors.

This should either be explained in the doc, or at least it should be pointed out that this is no longer possible (which would be a real shame).

I am going to close this issue as fixed because the original issue about the discrepancy between the document and the current version of the IDE has been resolved with the release of 7.3.

Please file a separate issue for configuring JavaScript versions.
