NetBeans IDE 7.2 RC1 (Build 201206141830)
JDK 7u5 64-bit

For a Maven-based project (I tested with a Java application as well as a NetBeans platform app project), access the project's properties in the IDE. Navigate to Build > Compile. The Manage Java Platforms... button (top right) is cut off on Windows 7. (See attached screenshot.)
