Happened to me just once - activating PHP features after invoking "new PHP project" was showing progress bar for several
minutes, then it finally succeeded. I am attaching a few thread dumps. Here is my build info:

Product Version: NetBeans IDE Dev (Build web-main-1495-on-090907)
Java: 1.6.0_13; Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 11.3-b02-83
System: Mac OS X version 10.5.8 running on x86_64; MacRoman; en_US (nb)
