http://wiki.netbeans.org/HowToOpenNetBeansProjectFromWebInIDE should support SCMs, in addition to source zips.

This will allow a lot of projects, like those on java.net, to provide a very easy way to get people started on hacking code.

This old bug may not be relevant anymore. If you can still reproduce it in 8.2 development builds please reopen this issue.
