I am trying to launch the netbeans (runide.sh) under sun 5.5 with JDK 1.2 and right after the splashscreen I recieve the following message: Cannot add System file system: /users/ebarten/nbuser32/system, exiting... What is the problem ?
There is one know problem, that is refered in FAQ, see: http://www.netbeans.org/articles/faqs/installation.html#FAQ_22 On Sollaris I get an error "Cannot add System file system" or "tar: directory checksum error" when installing NetBeans: It occurs because half the package is missing from the NetBeans directory. This is due to an incompatibilty with Solaris tar and large archives. You must use GNU tar (from www.sunfreeware.com) when un packing the archive or you'll only get half of it.> /usr/local/bin/tar -xzf NetBeans-release32.tar.gz Please confirm if, this solves your problem. At this time marked as invalid. If the problem persis, please reopen, thanks.
Obsolete issue resolved for 3.4 or earlier. Marking as VERIFIED, will CLOSE shortly.
