Downloaded and installed full version of 6.1 beta. On first start, it imported settings from the "old" 6.0.1 installation. It quickly got to the "Turning on modules" stage, but then it froze, using 98% of the CPU until I killed it several minutes later.
Created attachment 59814 [details] Log from first run after install
Created attachment 59815 [details] Log from a later run, where it was allowed tu run overnight
Correction: I did not install the "Full" version, It was the "Web & Java EE" version
The first log shows problems with loading languages module, the second is about OutOFMemory error. What is your size of RAM ? It would be nice to generate thread-dump during the startup when CPU is used for 98% http://wiki.netbeans.org/GenerateThreadDump Thanks in advance
It is settings import issue IMO.
import of settings is core/upgrade?
Copying attributes during upgrade isn't very lucky because copying attributes may deserialize classes that can't be loaded during upgrade. But should't lead to hang.
Reassigning to new module owner jskrivanek.
It is duplicate of 132801. If workaround mentioned there doesn't help for you, please, attach zipped "C:\Documents and Settings\nmn\.netbeans\6.0\config" and thread dump. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 132801 ***
