Description bmilcke 2008-03-28 11:39:13 UTC
I am using NetBeans 6.0.1 on a Windows machine to which I connect via a SunRay with Sun Connector (uttsc) and a German
Sun keyboard.
In the editor, when I want to enter a "{", I press <AltGraph>+<7>. What happens is that the File menu is selected, which
is the same behavior when pressing Alt instead of AltGr. (As for programming you need {,[,],} a lot this is a real
nuissance).

Interestingly this does not happen
* when using other programs like the Shell, Notepad, Emacs
* when using JEdit instead of NetBeans (so, this seems not to be Java-related)
* when connecting to the Windows machine with rdesktop instead of uttsc

So, maybe this is a Sun Connector issue, but as it only appears with NetBeans, I suppose it is more a bug there (or some
kind of non standard-conformance).

We had similar report some time ago, please see issue #74014 for details. It turned out to be JDK problem and if I am
not mistaken the solution was either to use the latest update of JDK6 or to use Xsun instead of Xorg.
