When starting the IDE for the first time, it detects the existence of preferences for 5.0 and offers to import them. 
It would seem that it should detect preferences for 5.5 (instead of 5.0) for the 6.0 release, and it should detect 
preferences for 6.0 for the 6.1 release...

6.0 detects the older userdir in this order 5.5.1, 5.5, 5.0

for the 6.1 it will look for 6.0 at first, of course. However the issue isn't implemented yet - see #126015
