Description Peter Pis 2007-11-09 09:43:40 UTC
Product Version: NetBeans IDE 6.0 RC1 (Build 200711090000)
Java: 1.6.0_03; Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 1.6.0_03-b05
System: Windows XP version 5.1 running on x86; Cp1252; en_GB (nb)
Userdir: D:\ide\60daily\user

I've installed full NetBeans IDE. Opening the "Plugins" there are only "Maven" and "Sun Java Wireless ..." available
plugins.
Comment 1 rnovak 2007-11-09 15:01:12 UTC
I'm decreasing the priority of this issue, it is not a showstopper. Modules planned for NB 6.0 Update Centers are being
uploaded subsequently when they are ready. I just uploaded most of Stable modules.
Comment 2 Peter Pis 2007-11-09 15:07:14 UTC
But it's a stopper for me and all people using mercurial plugin. (just an example) ;-) When will all modules be available?
Comment 3 Jiri Kovalsky 2007-11-09 15:19:03 UTC
FYI, Mercurial plugin was also uploaded.
Comment 4 rnovak 2007-11-09 15:19:28 UTC
RC version of Mercurial plugin is not available yet. I uploaded older one and refresh as soon as I get newer one.
Comment 5 Marian Mirilovic 2007-11-09 16:50:04 UTC
Ok guys,
this is a serious problem and we need to solve it right now.

I would like to be sure all modules listed on :
http://wiki.netbeans.org/wiki/view/NB6StableModulesUC
http://wiki.netbeans.org/wiki/view/NB6BetaModulesUC

... are available on UCs accessible from daily release60 builds. This is a blocker for QE and I won't give a GO until we
have a time to test it appropriately.
Comment 6 Michal Zlamal 2007-11-09 17:02:37 UTC
Marian,

it is OK that you need to test it, but could you please tell us where we can get those NBMs?

thanks a lot
Comment 7 rnovak 2007-11-09 17:11:42 UTC
In my opinion, this issue should be filed against missing modules, not against UC content. Modules NBMs are not
available and therefore can not be uploaded
Comment 8 Marian Mirilovic 2007-11-09 17:20:58 UTC
Michal,
1, if you miss some module you can ask responsible person, file another P1 or simply reassign this one to him/her
2, as I know these "missing modules" are not the reason we hadn't have modules on UC today - it was caused by mistake in
the build script

The list of modules on both UCs were reviewed and approved by p-team , so I expect you have all informations to get all
of them, if not please go ahead and inform p-team.
Comment 9 Jiri Kovalsky 2007-11-10 13:22:21 UTC
Frankly, I don't understand why we need to have _all_ modules published _now_ and actually the plans say the lists are
meant for FCS which is scheduled for December 3rd, right? For example, our plan was to have PHP module on the Stable UC
but as far as I know the plugin didn't even reach Beta quality yet. Should we then hold up RC1 because of that or should
I simply remove the module from the plan? Robert contacted all module owners whose bit are missing and I know that he
published what was available to date. The problem is Beta UC where many modules still needs to be uploaded (Jemmy/Jelly,
XTest, JUnit etc.)

Comment 11 Marian Mirilovic 2007-11-11 17:49:56 UTC
Jirka, Robert, Michal,
please read the issue once again. It was reported at the time when *only* WTK & Maven modules were available. As I've
said few times, this is not acceptable. As I know Robert fixed this issue on Friday ! ... for me this is too late. We
stressed this issue out, because we are having these kind of problems *every milestone*.

Jirka,
the document written by you and reviewed by p-team says : ...This document lists all stable quality plugins that will be
available on NetBeans Update Center when NetBeans 6.0 Beta and FCS will be released.
Based on your last comment, is this still true ?
Comment 12 Michal Zlamal 2007-11-11 20:28:49 UTC
Marian,

I'm getting lost. You said that this issue was resolved on Friday, so why it is still open?

Other thing is that we (BE) can't be responsible for hunting for modules which are missing and we can't be responsible
for the quality of the modules.
The modules have to be delivered to us with clear instruction what should be where.

What is expected for us to do?

-Michal
Comment 13 Michal Zlamal 2007-11-12 08:08:29 UTC
We have published all the required modules on 60 beta UC, you can download catalog.xml file to see it, but those modules
are not visible in the IDE.
We validated the catalog file and it seems to be OK.

It seems like an issue in Plugin manager.

We are still investigating.
Comment 14 Jiri Kovalsky 2007-11-12 08:24:06 UTC
Mariane, I believe that it is true (FCS is planned for Dec/3rd). All update centers are created although they don't
contain all planned modules yet due to various reasons. PHP development team didn't make the deadline and decided to
target Beta UC only and plan to deliver the NBMs withing next 2 weeks. TaskList case is similar: the sources in trunk
are compatible with 6.0 but not
of the required quality. I am sorry but I really can't help others develop their modules. Publishing of UC content is
unfortunately dependent task and in such case I believe you understand that both plans for Stable and Beta UC are live
documents. Some modules were added/removed to the plan after p-Team's review. Should every such addition/removal be
reviewed at the p-Team?

Since all available modules are published I am closing this issue. If you still see some missing modules, don't hesitate
to reopen this issue with appropriate priority.
Comment 15 Marian Mirilovic 2007-11-12 09:20:22 UTC
Ok, we've solved this off-line.
