Description pantarhei 2007-06-25 14:41:37 UTC
make it possible to sync the editor window with the project navigator. that means that the opened file in the editor
gets selected in the project navigator. this feature should have a en-/disable button in the project navigator.

I would make this defect. Recently, exactly the same problem in Java editor was also P3 defect (issue #87753). Feel free
to take it back but this have impact for usability (big one for me ;)

Reassigning this issue to newly created 'ruby' component.
Comment 3 Torbjorn Norbye 2007-08-10 00:30:47 UTC
Martin, I don't think this is the same issue as 87753 for Java. I think this bug is asking for a way to have the
projects view (not the navigator, although many people call it the project navigator) update its selection based on the
currently edited file. I've seen requests for that before, and have redispatched some bugs to the projects ui module.

I think you're talking about having the navigator view update its selected -method- to reflect the method containing the
caret. That's what was done for issue 87753, and we should do it for Ruby too. There is already another issue tracking
that problem.

So I'm going to reassign this to the projects ui module; it's surely already a known issue but they would know the exact
issue number and I assume each additional duplicate shows the importance of this feature.

Sure, sorry. I meant really Navigator (Ctrl-7) in my comment.
