After updating JDK from 1.5.0_02 to 1.5.0_11, toolbar buttons are too close together, leaving virtually no space between them. Is this related to issue 82776? Also, the hover effect has disappeared

I don't think this is duplicate of issue 82776 (JDK bug was fixed to JDK 1.5.0_09) ... Reassign to core for investigation...
Passing to Standa who has windows for reproduction... Reporter, is this still an issue in NetBeans 6.0 (latest milestone)? Is this as issue with JDK 1.6 or later jdk 1.5_xx? It's JDK/Swing bug for sure...
Yes, I just tried Milestone 10, and it has the same problem when using jre 1.5.0_11, installing 1.6.0_02 solves it. I also found out that it's only reproducible with the "Windows Classic" theme on XP (Display Properties > Themes > Windows Classic), with the "Windows XP" theme it's looking fine.
Created attachment 45691 [details] native/java file chooser
it is jdk issue, see the attached image: the top part is native file chooser in win classic, the bottom part is java file chooser under jdk 1.5_09, win classic
