Description Jiri Kovalsky 2001-02-07 17:51:40 UTC
Development build of NetBeans #120 (2001-02-07) on Windows 2000 with JDK 1.3.

Description:
============
There is specific procedure that makes whole IDE unusable until user finds the
way to recover it but it is pretty difficult. "Browse..." button in the first
panel opens "Select directory:" dialog that is modal but its parent is set
strange. If this dialog is hidden behind the mounting wizard, that is possible
to do, IDE becomes unusable. Follow this procedure to reproduce the bug and for
workaround as well:

Steps to reproduce:
===================
1. Try to mount JavaCVS filesystem ="Mount JavaCVS..." menuitem on "Filesystems"
2. Click "Browse..." button and move "Select directory:" dialog to the center of
   mounting wizard.
3. Now click on the "Explorer [Filesystems]" button representing Explorer window
   on the toolbar of the Windows (usually located at the bottom of your screen).
4. "Select directory:" dialog will be hidden behind the wizard and nothing of
   IDE will be accessible. This is the bug.
5. Now if you want to get back you first have to click on button representing
   the console from which IDE was launched and then minimize it again. This will
   show up "Select directory:" dialog back. Really strange don't you think ?

Version: 'Dev' -> 3.2
Comment 2 Milos Kleint 2001-04-03 09:47:25 UTC
should be fixed in release32 (20) and dev builds (160)
Comment 3 Jiri Kovalsky 2001-06-09 18:39:11 UTC
Say it more proudly ! Yes, it is really fixed and its danger is pretty less now
since we use now new CVS wizard and original Java CVS's wizard is used only
rarely. Verified in development build of NetBeans #206.

Resolved for 3.4.x or earlier, no new info since then -> closing.
