Original status: 6-Fix Understood; Suggested Status: NEW Original Target Release: shortfin_dev; Suggested Target Milestone : 5.5 Original submitter: sakthivelg Description: shortfin build 06 0929_4 on sparc The Edit Database Server Dialog needs some renaming NB doesn't use the term Database Server Type for adding JDBC Drivers. Please check with Dusan/HIE for suggestions. Thanks! Evaluation: It's too late to make any change Besides this dialog is not just for adding a driver Evaluation (Entry 2): I agree that it is late. But this can't be considered as Filing Error. This still needs proper eval from HIE. Assigning it to Dusan. We do have two different UI for adding JDBC Driver into the system : One from NB and the other being reused from Creator/Leopard (with import projects > resolve db problems) Same with Add Database connection too. We have two dialogs with different UI : One from NB and the other being from Creator/Leopard. I understand that you have reused Creator Edit Database Server Type and Add Database Connection to provide quick solution to resolving database problems with import projects functionality. Evaluation (Entry 3): At this morning's DB presentation by JohnB we identified a couple of ways that these dialogs can be modified to make them more like the ones in Netbeans. We should follow up on those if possible. Evaluation (Entry 4): I'm looking to do away with this dialog if possible for FCS Evaluation (Entry 5): The title of the dialog could be changed to Add Driver but need to get approval from Docs
Dialog may go away for M9
a driver dialog won't be used. Another approach is being implemented for M10
