Description twolf 2000-12-22 16:39:21 UTC
Starting with build 93 or 94, I could no longer open XML files (i.e.
files ending in '.xml') from the Explorer by double-clicking on them.
I just get a system bell sound when I do so. Right-clicking on the
file, I see a menu that has "Open" greyed out. When I try opening it
via File->Open, I get a separate "Explorer" window with 'network'
showing up.

I'm currently running Build 95.

I cannot reproduce any such behavior using trunk sources. XML files open just
fine. If you get a beep and/or Open is greyed out, it *probably* means that you
do not actually have focus on the Explorer window, which is possibly a window
system bug, but not much use unless there are clear steps to reproduce
(especially OS and JDK version).

BTW File | Open is not a reasonable way to open much of anything. If it's
visible in the Explorer it can and should be opened directly there.
