I cancelled the CVS checkout of branch release55 during the last session (it got
no lock for a file even after hours). After IDE restart I got periodically
NullPointerExceptions.

This issue is not valid in current builds any more. Java support was completely
redesigned in 6.0 time frame. Please use NetBeans 6.0 and later.
