We are seeing thousands of bounce messages from netbeans.org. Users fill out a subscription form on our downloads pages, which generates emails to the @netbeans.org subscription addresses (like nbannounce-subscribe@ etc). Those msgs are bouncing, I will attach a sample. The ISP hosting nb.info for us has reported serious mail backlogs onbecause of this. They investigated and found msgs are bouncing with the following error msg : 204.16.104.10_does_not_like_recipient./Remote_host_said: _452_Too_many_recipients_received_this_hour/Giving_up_on_204.16.104.10 Sounds like nb.org (or some collab server processing mail for it) is rejecting msgs coming from nb.info. We need this addressed immediately. Pls respond, thanks.
Looking into this Jack.
Created attachment 35588 [details] Sample bounce from netbeans.org -> netbeans.info
Jack, from the research we had, i dont think the mail is being rejected as we see in the mail logs all the messages has been delivered. So will update further whats making these bounce message as we suspect it could be more message recieved than the limit per hour.
Updating WB.
I just used the form to sign up and received a confirmation email in my inbox. Can we confirm if rocko.futurequest.net is still getting the bounces?
I have ~2000 bounces in the last 24 hours. Less than the previous 24 hours (closer to 6000), but still obviously a problem. This remains a P1. Pls advise.
Jack, Please provide us with the bounced messages with the full header of the message and the body. The attachment in desc3 was just a notice of delay not a bounce. According to the spam/virus filter it has not bounced any messages from netbeans.info. We should be able to better diagnose the problem with the actual bounced message with the full header of the message and body. Regards, Karishma Support Operations
Jack, is this still happening, if so could you please send us one of those bounced messages? Thanks Priya
Seems to have gone away, thanks.
Based on Jack's comment, marking as verified
