is there some way we can implement a priority system for the bugs that are
reported?  perhaps a voting system like Sun uses?  for example, i'm sure most
people would agree that bug 8428, which prevents people from using the IDE
without much inconvenience, is more important than many of the other bugs that
have been fixed since 8428's introduction.  there are other bugs as well which
affect a broader spectrum of users (such as any with the editor, since most
everyone uses it) which probably should get higher priority than those that
concern few people.
