When editing faces-config.xml files, there is no graphical UI to help the developer see all the settings that are defined in there. Instead, the developer has to deciper XML values by hand. Extremely unproductive. For a reference, please see the set of JSF features supported in Eclipse's WTP and ensure that Netbeans offers at the very least that level of support for JSF: http://www.eclipse.org/webtools/jsf/dev_resource/JSFTutorial-RC3/JSFTools_tutorial.html Thank you
Here are some sample screenshots that are worth looking at as a reference: http://www.eclipse.org/webtools/jsf/dev_resource/JSFTutorial-RC3/images/facesconfig-editor-bean.png http://www.eclipse.org/webtools/jsf/dev_resource/JSFTutorial-RC3/images/faces-config-validator.png http://www.eclipse.org/webtools/jsf/dev_resource/JSFTutorial-RC3/images/facesconfig-register-validator.png http://www.eclipse.org/webtools/jsf/dev_resource/JSFTutorial-RC3/images/facesconfig-editor.png http://www.eclipse.org/webtools/jsf/dev_resource/JSFTutorial-RC3/images/navigation.png
Thanks for the suggestion! Yes, we plan to improve the Faces Configuration editing post 6.5.
this would be helpful addition; there is no easy way to add the locale section for example and default faces.config.xml does not have locale section, even a commented out example locale section as was in the past and it forces users to need to know the syntax and do the work. thus please consider adding the locale section; see various older visualweb rfes and issues on this topic. ken.frank@sun.com
Could be useful, but not sure how important this still is for JSF 2.0 when most information is specified via annotations.
This old bug may not be relevant anymore. If you can still reproduce it in 8.2 development builds please reopen this issue. Thanks for your cooperation, NetBeans IDE 8.2 Release Boss
