Description jrojcek 2006-08-01 10:09:16 UTC
In the windowing system usability study, please test the visual indication of the maximized mode. My
concern:
---
As the user has to manually cancel the maximized editor mode, they might forget they are in the
maximized editor and they can open/close/dock/rearrange views like Projects, Output, etc. which might
cause they would spoil the purpose of the maximize mode unintentionally. The visual indication of
maximized mode is very important so that the user is always aware of the fact the IDE is in maximized
editor mode. I'm not saying the current indication is not enough. A usability study should show whether it
works or not.

No usability study is planned for windowing system in 6.0. Hopefully we get user feedback regarding this
issue.
