Description Geertjan Wielenga 2006-04-24 13:51:55 UTC
I propose that a separate project template be added. It would have 100% the same
content as "Module Suite Project", but be called "Rich Client Application
Project" instead. The "Module Suite Project" would be renamed to "Module
Collection Project", but exclude the splash screen (and related branding
options) in the Project Properties dialog box. That one project serves two
functions, which is a bit confusing. Also, having the term "Rich Client
Application" so prominantly in the New Project wizard would really be a powerful
statement about the support we have for this type of project.

I agree with the above - except I'd like to keep the name "Module Suite"
instead of "Module Collection", the former seems to sound better to me :-D

To add my experience, I have been wondering how to utilise the NB Platform to
create my own standalone application, until I started working on a NB module
and created my first Module Suite!

+1 many people are confused about the schizofrenic Module Suite project.

This has now been implemented in 6.1 dev builds, so I am closing the issue.
Comment 4 Jesse Glick 2008-03-20 21:43:06 UTC
Not exactly as originally requested, note - you can still switch a suite project into or out of app mode at will. All
that is new in 6.1 is that there is a new project template which is initially in app mode.

Right. I think that's fine.

Not many users are aware that there are a lot of web applications provided by Google which users can access using their Gmail account. These web services include Google Drive, Google Sheets, and Google Doc and so on. Now, there are times when users tend to access their applications on mobile platforms as well. In any of which case, users need to configure those apps to the system using the Gmail account which is to be referred. In order to do so, users simply need to provide the Gmail account credentials while installing or logging in to the particular Google App.
