Start of the IDE with no projects open, i.e. no project was open on last exit.
When loading a project java.lang.NullpointerException occurs. The same happens 
upon loading another project.

Somewhere in an NBM project's project.xml you have a <runtime-relative-path>
(inside a <class-path-extension>) which is empty; that is illegal. Better error
reporting generally covered by existing issues.
