Open a fairly complex file (mine has 60 entries in the Usages drop-down).  Go to Navigator->Usages.  Start typing to bring up the Quick Search popup.  Once the entry you're looking for is found, hit 'Enter'.  NB locks.

Yet, another one. The experimental navigator/usages module has serious problems
and should not be used with NB 5.0 until it's fixed by the maintainer.

Remove from build.properties if you think it is dangerous.

JavaUsagesNavigator is defunct as of NB 6.  May be updated in the future.
