Description Max Sauer 2005-11-11 13:58:33 UTC
Current Fonts&Colors tab layout gives the impression that annotations are bound
to fonts and colors profile, which is not true.

This has two major consequences:
 - annotation settings cannot be restored to defaults, altough there is a
'Restore' button.
 - User cannot synchronise annotation colors with the rest of the color scheme
without affecting other color layouts.

Comment 1 Jan Jancura 2005-11-15 09:08:45 UTC
Should be fixed, but too late for nb5.0.
Comment 2 Vitezslav Stejskal 2006-12-05 03:30:09 UTC
Hanzi, when saying 'should be fixed' what exactly did you mean? Where is the
fix, on your disk, some branch, ...? Can we apply it to trunk, please?
Comment 3 Max Sauer 2007-02-02 15:36:58 UTC
Still valid. Hanzi, could you please answer Vita's question? Dik.
Comment 4 Jan Becicka 2008-02-15 12:38:32 UTC
Hanzi?
Comment 5 Vitezslav Stejskal 2008-02-15 13:00:51 UTC
Actually, I don't think this was fixed. Hanz might have attempted fixing it, but this problem goes beyond Tools-Options
and fixing it will likely require some API changes in the way how annotations are registered. So, please ignore my
question. At the time when I asked I didn't know much about these things.
Comment 6 Jan Jancura 2008-02-15 13:36:17 UTC
This issue was never fixed, and I agree with Vita - hard to fix, some API changes needed.

Bug 143145 was resolved, but its fix did not address this bug.
Comment 10 Jan Jancura 2010-04-26 12:36:27 UTC
We do not plan to fix this issue.
Fix is too complicated (API changes, ...). Current annotation highlights can hardly interfere with any possible color scheme. And its not problem to change annotations manually.

Jan,

I don't agree. Bug #128656 clearly talks about the annotation colors interfering with the color scheme. I don't understand what "its not problem to change
annotations manually" refers to. I hope you're not implying that changing annotation colors should exist outside the scope of a color scheme.

Either support color schemes fully or remove them. Right now I consider the color scheme feature to be severely broken for anyone using the non-default scheme.
Comment 12 Jan Jancura 2010-04-27 07:01:11 UTC
Gili,

I understand what is this bug about. But we have identified that this issue is minor and fix is too complicated. So, we have decided that we will not fix it.

Feel free to attach some patch, I you want.
