When using the Netbeans 5.0 beta, it seems like after a while, I end up losing the ability to edit files, rename classes with a single click, or do searches and replaces. I was in the middle of renaming several clases, by clicking on them and typing their new names. All of the sudden after about 3 of those, I was unable to click on the 4th one. Then, I tried editing an open file, and I can highlight, but when I type, nothing appears in the dialog. I looked and found a workaround for this that said to go to the Edit Menu, choose Find, but clicking that did not work. Nothing came up when I clicked the "Find" option in the menubar. I am also unable to use replace, reformat code, fix imports, surround with try catch, or class renames (by clicking on the file) I figured that this was a new bug, because the other bug did not mention the menus or any of the other functionality that was broken on this. I am using Linux and Java 1.5.04
already reported, thanks *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 66768 ***
Sorry, I was wrong. This is not a duplicate of the issue #66768 Problem with editing could be connected with the issue #66219, but clicking to edit/find should work in such case. Reopening. Could you please attach a ide.log file? Also if you reproduce the problem again, could you please attach an Full thread dump? Thanks
Any chance of having a reproducible testcase? Has it happened again? Have you tried Nb5.5?
Nobody has reported this in recent dev builds nor for 5.5, so it's probably fixed or very rare. Please reopen the defect if it happens again. Thanks.
