I just spoke to Judith who gave me details of the current problem. We've had multiple reports of site errors, similar to the errors/problems already reported, eg in issue 60635 here on nb.org and issue 22 on the extranet. This is not specifically a login issue, and is not limited to eastern Europe, we've had reports from the US also (and I've reproduced connection errors from the UK). We are continually seeing intermittent short term site outages and server errors. Error msgs reported just now are : 1) Forbidden you don't have permission to access /servlets/DomainHome on this server (this error was also seen on Friday, reported in issue 22 on the extranet) 2) Forbidden you don't have permission to access /servlets/contentHelmNoodle on this server Just now trying to access netbeans.org - from outside the Sun firewall (I am at home) - my first attempt timed out. After some minutes Firefox just showed a blank page and stopped trying. My second attempt did the same thing. This is not an isolated incident (or rather *these* few today are not isolated incident*s*). We need, P1 need, an explanation of what the problem is, and what is being done to address it. This level of performance is not acceptable.

And finally some more from netbeans.org (starting --22:16:41-- GMT) (I wish I was making this up) : http://www.netbeans.org/index.html : 391, 530(*), connection refused, 3, 1, 3, 21, 6, 1, 7 This exactly demonstrates the yoyoing behaviour we've been seeing and reporting for some time now. (*) this resulted in (after 530 seconds) : End of file while parsing headers. Retrying. --22:33:11-- http://www.netbeans.org/index.html (try: 2) => `index.html' Connecting to www.netbeans.org[64.125.133.209]:80... failed: Connection refused. Mon Oct 10 22:33:14 BST 2005 530 I just hit submit on this issue update and got the following error : "User 'guest' lacks permission The user 'guest' does not have the permissions necessary to perform this action or the session has timed out." I was logged in - I have not left netbeans.org since filing my first comment here just 30 minutes ago. Looks like during the "outage" I just saw above (the "connection refused" msg) all login sessions were lost.
