(#200510031800, jdk1.5.0, Derby #200508301800]

It slowing scannig classpath. On my OS X (1.5Ghz PowerPC) it takes more than 10 sec.

The files are compressed in the derby distribution. For 3rd party software, we
normally just package it the way it is, without any changes. This is also the
expectaction from a legal perspective - a legal approval to bundle a technology
gives us the permission to bundle it *unmodified*.

To me, the real problem is that classpath scanning on compressed files is slow.
Can that be fixed? Was it filed?

I uderstand to your objections. The main reason why I enter this issue was to
evaluate this problem and consider possible solutions if any.

But then I find the #43064 - 'Some JARs in NetBeans distribution are compressed'
so I am closing this as duplicate.
