OS: SunOS ultra 5.11 snv_17 i86pc i386 i86pc System: Pentium IV with intel i810 graphics card. All the java demos (including 2D) and netbeans 3.6 and 4.0 work properly. netbeans 4.1 comes up, but all the screens are grey. The menu and everything seems to work, only display is not seen. The X server is Xsun. With Xorg netbeans 4.1 works, but I am unable to use it because of flicker problem with Xorg.

maybe a duplicate of issue 58960?
Thanks for pointing this out. I think it is a duplicate of issue 58960. But that issues has been closed because the submitter used another video card. I dont have that option as my motherboard does not have a graphics card slot. I think it is still worth investigating as all the java swing demos work and only netbeans 4.1 does not work.
Similar issue #60875 was reported for nevada though not duplicate as it was on different hardware.
Do some things display but some never paint? Does everything paint if you resize the window? If so it could be similar to another issue that occurred a while back on mac - AsyncGuiJob waiting for a PaintEvent that never comes.
No. Nothing displays. Only the edges can be seen when it does outside the border. (see the latest attachment). Even resizing, moving does not help.

This is weird, I have no idea how Netbeans could cause this itself... Marek, any chance you could reproduce this behaviour? I'm running on very different hardware and have no chance to fix this.
I resolved this issues by installing the package SUNWxwplt from solaris 10 GA release. I think this is a bug in solaris package that contains Xsun. Marking this issue as resolved. Probably you can document this.
