Not sure what this means, but the labels of the root nodes of some of my module projects are shown as grey in Projects rather than black. org.netbeans.modules.versioning/1 [1.1.1 1 200506131800] org.netbeans.modules.versioning.system.cvss/1 [1.4.1.42 1 200507211800] Product Version = NetBeans IDE Dev (Build 050725) Operating System = Linux version 2.6.11-1.35_FC3 running on i386 Java; VM; Vendor = 1.6.0-ea; Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 1.6.0-ea-b43; Sun Microsystems Inc.

I opened projects from your screenshot but did not experience the problem. Can you provide a test case? Also try the new module from autoupdate, it fixes some bugs.
I'm not sure how to reproduce; I just know that I had checked status of (all of) apisupport at some point before (not necessarily in the same IDE session).
I am already using the latest version available on AU, and the problem persists reliably after an IDE restart. What would help you diagnose this? org.netbeans.modules.versioning/1 [1.1.1 1 200506131800] org.netbeans.modules.versioning.system.cvss/1 [1.5.1.42 1 200507251800]
I have gone thru my userdir and deleted everything I can see that looks related to the CVS module except the fact that it is on, and still the problem persists: - synchronize TopComponent - org-netbeans-modules-versioning-system-cvss-settings-*.settings (why so many, anyway??)
Reproducible for me (in my nb_all checkout) by - starting my last-built dev build (using JDK 1.5.0) on a fresh userdir - opening apisupport/project, apisupport/harness, and nbbuild as projects - going to AU wizard, getting the new CVS module, and accepting an IDE restart
Not reproducible after moving aside my apisupport.netbeans.org checkout and checking out a fresh copy of apisupport.
OK, got it. To reproduce: touch apisupport/harness/README~
Seems like we need to adjust annotation heuristics a bit.
Fixed as a side-effect of fixing Issue #60970.
