Currently one can monitor an applications' heap usage but I'd like to monitor
its stack usage. Specifically I want to monitor what is a reasonable JRE maximum
stack usage.

Thanks for the suggestion, this is something we are considering as part of 
providing more details about memory usage, a-la visual gc.
