No messages appear to have arrived on netbeans.org mailing lists recently. I also sent a test message to dev@apisupport.netbeans.org several hours ago and have not yet received it (nor does it appear in the web archives). I have also gotten a transient delivery failure for a message sent to jtulach@netbeans.org several hours ago. Could someone check whether the mail handling infrastructure is still working?
Confirming I have not received any mail to netbeans.org lists since ~08:47 CET (about 13hrs ago).
looking into this
We are currently working on the issue. We will get back to you as soon as it is resolved. Thanks, Karishma - Helpdesk
I saw test mails going through. Reducing this to P2.
I still haven't seen my test mails coming thru on dev@apisupport. Will try sending another just in case.
Did the test mail go through? If so please update Thanks Karthik-Helpdesk
No, none of my posts to dev@apisupport.netbeans.org have come through yet. I haven't seen any other recent posts to any lists yet either. cvs@ and issues@ pseudo-lists seem to be working fine, however. BTW I just recently asked gmane.org to create an NNTP group for dev@apisupport, which they claim they did: ---%<--- * Newsgroup name: gmane.comp.java.netbeans.modules.apisupport.devel * Mailing list address: dev@apisupport.netbeans.org * The gateway is bi-directional * Address encryption is off * Spam detection is on * The list is described as: "Discussion of development of the API Support module for the NetBeans IDE" * News URL: news://news.gmane.org/gmane.comp.java.netbeans.modules.apisupport.devel * Web URL: http://dir.gmane.org/gmane.comp.java.netbeans.modules.apisupport.devel This newsgroup will be created when the first message from the mailing list arrives. ---%<--- [The list is not actually there yet, but then again, no messages have gone through yet.] I don't know if that could possibly be related (anything *they* do should not be able to affect the nb.org site), but mentioning it just in case.
The issue is being investigated by the engineering team. Will update you as soon as possible. Karthik-Helpdesk
In case it's useful, here's a bounce I got at 01:13 CET this morning. Note mails do seem to be trickling through now, though there's no way to tell if the backlog has come throuhg, or if *all* msgs are now coming through. -- ********************************************** ** THIS IS A WARNING MESSAGE ONLY ** ** YOU DO NOT NEED TO RESEND YOUR MESSAGE ** ********************************************** The original message was received at Thu, 5 May 2005 07:39:37 -0600 (MDT) from [129.157.72.190] ----- Transcript of session follows ----- ... while talking to asmx1.sfo.collab.net.: >>>>>> MAIL From:<Jack.Catchpoole@SUN.COM> SIZE=1436 ENVID=0IG000D1IRA0G6@bohemia2-mail1.czech.sun.com <<< 451 4.7.1 Please try again later <nbusers-accept-1115280633.904.ocbehomembnhgjkomjjg@netbeans.org>... Right, seems some things are coming through eventually. For example, a post by Peter Nabbefeld came through to dev@apisupport (*). But none of my posts to dev@apisupport (direct mail) have come through so far. I had one post come thru to dev@openide (posted thru GMane). Why is this still marked P2? Should be P1 IMHO - critical site functionality not working adequately or at all. Jack I leave it to you to decide on priority. (*) But may have been delayed: ---%<--- ..... More specifically, a message I tried to post to dev@apisupport last night (US EST) bounced: ---%<--- ********************************************** ** THIS IS A WARNING MESSAGE ONLY ** ** YOU DO NOT NEED TO RESEND YOUR MESSAGE ** ********************************************** The original message was received at Thu, 5 May 2005 23:17:59 -0600 (MDT) from [129.147.156.34] ----- Transcript of session follows ----- <dev@apisupport.netbeans.org>... I just got a bounce from a mail I sent this afternoon. Clearly the problem is not resolved. This is a P1. Collab, any progress ? Is this a load issue, a mail backlog ... ? -- ********************************************** ** THIS IS A WARNING MESSAGE ONLY ** ** YOU DO NOT NEED TO RESEND YOUR MESSAGE ** ********************************************** The original message was received at Fri, 6 May 2005 04:02:32 -0600 (MDT) from [129.157.72.190] ----- Transcript of session follows ----- <nbannounce-reject-1115337244.10595.ncjogoaemgjmlckjopfj@netbeans.org>... Grid Engine (the project on SunSource.net) is experiencing a similar issue. (IZ #91 in the sunsource extranet IZ for Collab support reference)
Have updated the engineers. Will get back to you on the status. Karishma - Helpdesk.
The mails seem to be getting through. Please check it in your project & close the issue if resolved. Please feel free to get back to us if unresolved. Thanks, Karishma-Helpdesk.
I am having trouble posting to nbj2ee@netbeans.org too. I sent two mails on Friday and got back a warning message(see below). One of the mails did make it through and was posted on the mailing list, but the other one did not. I tried to resend the mail this morning at 8:05 A.M Pacific Time, and it has not posted yet. I did'nt get any warning or bounce message back either. Getting thru on dev@apisupport as far as I can see. Will leave to Jack et alia to confirm status of other lists. (So what was wrong, anyway, and how do we know it won't happen again?)
Can't really say that all lists are working, and that all backlog has cleared, but it certainly appears that msgs are getting through promptly now. Jesse : AFAIK it was Brightmail buckling under the load of recent spam/virus attacks.

I have verified the issue, the mails to dev@apisupport.netbeans.org are getting delivered immediately. Regards, Ramya Support operations
