Possibility to name bookmark. Name of bookmark should be file qualified. New action Go to bookmark would open (non-modal) window with list of bookmarks. User could select "MyFile1.MyBookmark" and do inter-file jump.
Priority is changed to P4 (normal).
Only changed version to Development.
I would really like to be able to jump to bookmarks accross files. The jump list is not always the best way to do things. So named bookmarks would really help.

Copying text from duplicate issue 20245 : Additional Comments From Zohar Amir 2002-02-20 03:40 PST I would have liked it if netbeans enabled me to set multiple bookmarks that can be reached independently. For example: use Alt+<number> to set a bookmark (its number can be displayed where the current bookmark symbol is displayed, only with a number) and then, when I click Ctrl+Alt+<number> I'd be brought to the appropriate bookmark. Obviously, if I set a bookmark '1' in file 'A' and I am now editing file 'B', clicking Ctrl+Alt+1 would bring me to file 'A', to the bookmark. Additional Comments From Dominik Drzewiecki 2003-03-07 07:52 PST I'd suggest the following: - Ctrl+Alt+<number> as a toggle numbered bookmark action and Alt+<number> as a jump to numbered bookmark action (the action performed more frequently should be easier to reach, compare current Ctrl+F2 vs. F2) - Preserve the current bookmarking system for unnamed bookmarks but enhance it with backward bookmark navigation - shift + F2 (compare to search navigation F3 vs shift+F3) - serialize/deserialize them...

Changing subcomponent to annotations.
Inter-file navigation for bookmarks seriously should be considered to be added. At least the way I work it would boost my productivity.
I also think that it would be useful but the feedback in the issue 8007 indicates that there is no strong demand for it from other users. We might consider it for promoF or promoG as the current infrastructure would allow for finding of all bookmarks for the currently opened projects.

Is it really started? Anyway, maybe the new Bookmark view should address this at least partially.
Fixed in NB72. See http://wiki.netbeans.org/NewAndNoteworthyNB72#Bookmarks_View * There is a bookmarks view with master-detail-style * Bookmarks can be named * Bookmarks can have own shortcuts * Bookmarks can be accessed via "go to bookmarks"-action (subaction of "go to line") or specific actions like "Bookmark history popup next"
