Description jrojcek 2005-03-03 14:54:50 UTC
A participant selected "with Existing Sources" project template
when he was supposed to create a Hello world enterprise
application.

Because of this problem:
1 participant was slowed down during Task 2

Sounds like the user did not read the info pane or they did not know what a "with existing sources"
means. This may be fixable by expanding the explination in the info pane of the first page of the
project selection wizard. I can take a go at it. Assign this to me, if you want me to take a closer
look at it.
Comment 2 jrojcek 2005-03-14 17:55:42 UTC
John Jullion improved the project descriptions since the study. This might help, but the core problem is
that this project template (with Existing Sources) is a separate project template. It should be part of
"empty" project template. Changing to enhancement.
Comment 3 David Konecny 2008-04-08 05:07:55 UTC
Obsolete.
Comment 4 Ondrej Langr 2008-04-08 10:17:33 UTC
I don't think this is obsolete. The problem with "with Existing Sources" wizards persists. And AFAIK, there is a
long-term plan for changing new project wizards, which should fix this.
Comment 5 David Konecny 2008-04-09 00:30:33 UTC
If there is "problem with 'with Existing Sources' wizards" and a "long-term plan for changing new project wizards" then
it is not obvious from this issue as is and that's why I think it should be closed. I would instead file new defect
issue describing what's wrong or an enhancement saying what should be improved or a task to analyze what's wrong or...
But just my two cents. I'm looking at all non-defect issues for web/j2ee project areas whether there is something
inspiring. This issue has been sitting there for last 3 years without any progress and it does not say anything useful.
And as jrojcek said wording describing wizard purpose was improved.

Closing this, creating new issue. See #132514.
