I.e. for STDIN during execution, on the InputOutput pane, suggest making the text-entry field be a combo box so that the user could either type in a value to send to the app, or select from a previo
usly entered one.

As far as I can tell, this issue is about a fix to the 
pre-terminal emulator output window.  Closing as invalid,
reopen if you feel strongly.

Not sure if it's really worth the developer effort to implement, though.

If you consider a termulator as a basic swing widget that has to
work under NB OW, be connctable to an rlogin protocol or
a unix pty STREAM stack then having readline functionality
be implemented in it doesn't make sense.
If you want the right place to do this would be OW in a mode
similar to the emacs shell.
