When I want to start using the CVS functionality in NetBeans, it is very hard to do. I have to go through the "New Wizard - Generic VCS", which is very annoying. Why do I need to fill in the screen with so many fields? What I would like is the workflow that WinCVS uses: 1/ start WinCVS 2/ choose a working directory After that, I can do most CVS operations without any additional setup. In NetBeans, I should be able to do versioning operations: - From the Files tab, after I open a project that is in versioned. - From the Favorites tab, when I add a directury that is versioned. Next, I understand that sometimes the module may need to ask about connection data (username, host, port, password etc.) However, it should not present these as individual fields, as that's not how this information normally exists. When I get connection information by e-mail or read checkout instructions on some project's website, normally it's in the form of: :pserver:anoncvs@cvs.apache.org:/home/cvspublic and not: CVS Server Type: pserver CVS Server Name: cvs.apache.org Port: 2401 User Name: anoncvs Repository Path: /home/cvspublic Please consider gettting started with CVS *much* simpler than it is today. Thanks.
