build 200502081900 -I have installed appserver 7. -Installation of NB+AS bundle passed without any warning or errors, but appserver is not installed. -Standalone installer of appserver 8.1 works fine.
Created attachment 20267 [details] as-install.log
If App Server fails to install ie. it returns error code user is informed in Summary panel. ie. it is not correct: "Installation of NB+AS bundle passed without any warning or errors, but appserver is not installed." If QA thinks it is not enough I can show some dialog or anything else. There is not much bundle installer can do when App Server installer fails.
Please check also AS installer log files if any (if it returns error code 50 as you said it is possible no log files are created). On Solaris they are in /var/tmp for regular user.
There is log only from standalone appserver installer. I didn't notice any warning for the first time, so I thing the warning shoud be at least in different colour.
From install.log - AS installer returns fatal error exit code 50. This is shown in Summary panel: The Install Wizard has successfully installed NetBeans IDE 4.1 Development Version on your computer. Choose Finish to exit the Wizard. NetBeans IDE 4.1 Development Version installation location: /home.local/mslama/netbeans-4.1dev Sun Java System Application Server 8.1_01 may have encountered errors during installation. Check the install log below. Sun Java System Application Server 8.1_01 installation location: /home.local/mslama/netbeans-4.1dev/SunAppServer8.1 Installation log: /home.local/mslama/netbeans-4.1dev/_uninst/as-install.log If you think this message should be changed please reopen. Some kind of message in Summary panel is all what bundle installer can do when AS installer fails.
