netbeans RC2 200412051800 Linux Fedora Core 2, Gnome 2.0 During my usual work the editor cursor was lost. I cannot write into the documents opened in editor. I've tried to close editor or open a new document and nothing helps. Paste action doesn't work too. But I can select a text in the editor and change cursor coordinates. After I've restarted IDE it worked right.
Created attachment 19212 [details] threads dump
Do you have any reproducible test case ? How often do you see this behaviour ? Is it P2 ? Do you tried to switch focus to other application and back ? (2xAlt-Tab)
There does not seem to be anything suspicious in the thread dump. The AWT queue is empty. Unless we have a reproducible case we probably can't do much with this. If we won't find this reproducible I would downgrade to P3.
It seems to be rare problem. For now downgrading to P2.
I have seen it three times for last two days. Cursor missed in inplace rename textfield too. Nothing helps only to restart IDE.
Similar symptom described by Tor: <snip> Suddenly the editor caret disappears - and the caret refuses to come back. I can drag select text in the editor and it highlights - but that caret will not come back. I cannot enter any text into the document (which makes sense, since these would go at the caret position.) The only workaround I've found for this is to restart the IDE. ... I've been using the Find dialog. </snip> See also issue 54585
I'm making this a dup of issue 54585 since both issues already contain the same symptoms description. Although issue 52208 is older the other issue contains more information. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 54585 ***
